IWSG Writing Retreats

Writing retreats are where researchers gather to write, read or do other research-related work in structured, timed sessions. The aim is to disconnect from email and similar interruptions in a supportive atmosphere, alongside others facing the same challenges.

New paper on PublicPolicy.ie by Dr Nat O’Connor paper sets out Ireland’s demographic projections, showing how by 2057, one in every three people living in Ireland will be aged 60 or older and gives an overview of the challenges that are likely to arise from this transition, as well as some potential ways to overcome these challenges.

Systems Thinking and Homelessness Policy in Ireland

New paper on PublicPolicy.ie by Bob Jordan, Adjunct Senior Research Fellow, UCD Geary Institute for Public Policy is an approach to understanding how parts of a system interrelate and how systems evolve over time. It also advocates for the application of systems thinking in public policy development as a means of addressing homelessness in Ireland.
